For over 15 years the Langley Winds have been inspiring audiences and enhancing Air Force esprit-de-corps with superb artistry in a broad range of musical performances. The ensemble performs classical recitals, college master classes, school assemblies, and official military functions. In 2011 the Langley Winds participated in the Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival Fellowship Program, where they performed Paquito’s d’Rivera’s septet Kites. The group is dedicated to new works and arrangements. Since it expanded to a sextet in March 2010, the Langley Winds has commissioned two original compositions and four arrangements, as well as performing arrangements and transcriptions by group members. When not on stage the Langley Winds can be found sampling the fare at a neighborhood restaurant, shopping the local boutiques, or looking for the nearest running trail.
