The Concert Band is the largest musical component of the USAF Heritage of America Band. The ensemble features the diverse talents of 38 professional musicians whose backgrounds include advanced degrees in music and performances with world-class musical groups. The Concert Band performs throughout Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania, entertaining more than 60,000 people annually. The group's musical versatility is reflected in its extensive repertoire, which includes classical wind ensemble literature, Broadway show tunes, rousing Sousa marches and patriotic pieces.
The United States Air Force Heritage of America Band is dedicated to fostering and sustaining the United States Air Force heritage and instilling patriotism through our core value of excellence in music. The unit's commitment to this value is exhibited in its exciting live performances and over 55 compact disc recordings. These achievements have earned the ensemble worldwide acclaim as well as military awards, including eight Air Force Outstanding Unit awards, three Colonel George S. Howard Citations of Musical Excellence for Military Concert Bands and numerous Mayoral Proclamations. |
