The Concert Band is the largest musical component of the USAF Heritage of America Band. The ensemble features the diverse talents of 38 professional musicians whose backgrounds include advanced degrees in music and performances with world-class musical groups. The Concert Band performs throughout Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania, entertaining more than 60,000 people annually. For over 15 years the Langley Winds have been inspiring audiences and enhancing Air Force esprit-de-corps with superb artistry in a broad range of musical performances. The ensemble performs classical recitals, college master classes, school assemblies, and official military functions. In 2011 the Langley Winds participated in the Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival Fellowship Program, where they performed Paquito’s d’Rivera’s septet Kites. The group is dedicated to new works and arrangements. Since it expanded to a sextet in March 2010, the Langley Winds has commissioned two original compositions and four arrangements, as well as performing arrangements and transcriptions by group members. When not on stage the Langley Winds can be found sampling the fare at a neighborhood restaurant, shopping the local boutiques, or looking for the nearest running trail. More ... | | |

Rhythm in Blue is a highly entertaining and versatile thirteen piece ensemble which performs the American musical art forms of jazz, blues and funk. The band features repertoire from the great jazz masters, such as Oscar Peterson, Miles Davis, Chick Corea, The Yellowjackets, Charlie Parker,Michael Brecker and Herbie Hancock. The ensemble also pays tribute to the Big Band leaders of the swing era, such as Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Count Basie and Glenn Miller. In addition their fabulous vocalist entertains with musical gems from jazz divas such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, and Diane Schuur. The USAF Heritage Ramblers, a part of the Heritage of America Band, was formed in 2010. Under the leadership of TSgt John Garcia, the group's mission is to preserve and present the rich heritage of traditional jazz. With the music of such legends as Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, Jack Teagarden, and Bix Beiderbecke as their guide, Heritage Ramblers bring the New Orleans and Chicago styles of traditional jazz to life in each performance. In the tradition of musical excellence established by the Heritage of America Band, the Heritage Ramblers are sure to get toes tapping, hands clapping, and put smiles on faces wherever they perform.
